You must be living under the rocks if you haven’t heard about CBD and the health benefits it is likely to offer to humans and animals. In the recent past, CBD (cannabidiol) has taken the wellness industry by storm, because of its proven health benefits. CBD is one of the many cannabinoids that are obtained from the Cannabis sativa and hemp plants.
However, it doesn’t contain any psychoactive properties and doesn’t make you euphoric like THC (which is also obtained from the cannabis plants). The FDA has authorized the use of CBD provided it contains less than 0.3% THC. The compound is legalized in many other countries as well, provided it satisfies this condition.
The challenge of using CBD
CBD provides a lot of health benefits such as reduction of chronic pain, reduction of anxiety disorders, improvement in sleeping patterns, relief for seizures in epileptic patients and the like. However, the real challenge of using CBD is that there is no prescribed dosage specified by any authority so far.
Different ways of using CBD oil
CBD, cannabidiol or CBD oil, can be consumed in many forms such as supplements, topical applications, gummies & candies, tinctures and vaping or smoking.
Therefore, each one consumes different dosages of CBD. As long as you are comfortable using CBD in the form and quantity that you want, you can continue to do so, without any major hassles. Some people may not like consuming CBD through vaping or smoking. Instead, they may find it easier to consume a CBD-infused pill every night before going to bed.
Some people may like to absorb as much CBD as possible quickly into their bloodstream. Hence, they may consume CBD in the form of tinctures. In this process, you will have a dropper in which you have to fill the CBD-infused medicine. Release the dropper of medicine under your tongue and hold for a minute or so before you swallow it. Yes, it may taste a little weird in the beginning, but if you want the compound to enter into your bloodstream quickly, this is the right choice for you.
Average CBD dosage per day
As we told you earlier, it is impossible to find one “universal” or “perfect” dosage of CBD for different age groups of people and animals. It is all based on the comfort of the people using it. On an average, people consume anywhere between 20 and 1500mg of CBD per day. The huge difference in the minimum and maximum range will tell you volumes about the varying doses taken by people today.
What should you note?
Though there isn’t any predefined dosage of CBD authorized by the FDA, you need to be prudent while using CBD oil for the first time. You need to keep in mind certain basic factors such as your body weight, your sensitivity to medicines, the method in which you plan to take your CBD and the component of CBD in that particular method. For example, the dosage of CBD in a gummy may be far lesser when compared to the dosage of CBD in a tincture.
Also, when you are using CBD oil for the first time, you should always stick to consuming small dosages initially. In the first week, you can start with about 2o to 40mg of CBD to see how your body reacts to the same. Once you are comfortable with this dosage, you may slowly increase the dosage by 5mg with each week to experience the health benefits that are accompanied by this compound.
An important point that you should always remember is to talk to your doctor if you are planning to use CBD oil. He will guide you on the right method and right dosage based on your body type and existing ailments, if any.
